Regional Laboratory Medicine

Regional laboratory medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, area 4, and has a clear coordination mission for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization consists of the laboratory medical operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the hospitals in the west, and NU healthcare.

Who are we?

GeBlod supplies the healthcare system in Gothenburg with blood components. The blood donation unit includes GeBlod Sahlgrenska, GeBlod Nordstan, GeBlod Frölunda, and also a mobile unit, the Blood Bus. The Blood Bus visits Gothenburg and surrounding areas. Our operations are characterized by high quality assurance, and we constantly face new challenges and demands for development. The service targets the public and their willingness to make an important social contribution by donating blood on a voluntary basis. Good service and a warm welcome for our donors are always in focus.

What do we offer?

Your main tasks will be to perform blood donations, sampling, and apheresis donations on blood donors and to assess and make decisions based on the donor's health declaration during individual conversations. After completing the training in medical English, which the employer covers, you will also be able to perform blood donations in English. You will answer medical questions and document in the unit's data system, ProSang. You will have the opportunity to participate in events and activities for recruiting blood donors. Furthermore, there is the possibility of collaboration with our component production lab.

The Blood Bus's accompanying vehicle departs from Sahlgrenska, and together with colleagues, you will take turns driving. We offer you a varied job and rewarding and interesting meetings with people who want to make a difference.

We care about good employee relations based on professional treatment towards both donors and colleagues in the group. By professional treatment, we mean an approach based on professional knowledge and high medical safety in our field, as well as a mindset that we are a team working together. The working hours for this position are scheduled for weekdays, Monday to Friday, day and evening shifts, and every sixth Saturday. You will rotate between the various sections of the operation with 35 colleagues.

About you

We are looking for a licensed biomedical analyst. A B driver's license is a requirement. You need to be quality-conscious, meticulous, and enjoy a job that involves changing tempos. You inspire confidence and view others with interest and goodwill. Furthermore, we see that you enjoy working both in a team and independently. It is important to us that you, as an employee, feel involved, take initiative, and engage in developing the operation together. Personal suitability is of great importance.
